Up to 25% of elde rly patients commit assault at some time d uring their stay in healthcare care facilities. Furthermore, in a recent study which monitored assaults for one year, only 203 out of 1,100 incidents were actually reported. Agitation, aggression, and assault interfere with adequate care, and can lead to serious problems that affect everyone in the facility.
